You guys are AMAZING! Thanks so much for liking my page! I can't wait to share my book with you. And as I promised, below is a teaser where Sophia begins to learn her magic...
I pulled out a pretty blue gem stone that matched my shirt and held it in my right hand, placing my left hand over it just as Alexa had done. My magic was waiting inside of me for a chance to be used, as impatient as a child kept inside on a rainy day. I grasped a tendril and tugged lightly, feeling it un-spool and move towards my hands where I could send it into the stone. My power began to pour into the sapphire but it wasn’t long before there was some resistance. I pulled back and felt my connection to the stone break. In my hands, I held my first very own power stone. Opening my hand, the gem sat on my palm, pulsing along with my heartbeat. I barked out a laugh, staring at the stone then raised my head to look at Alexa.
“I can’t believe you did it on your first try. No half-witch has. Do it again,” she commanded.
I picked another stone, this one a pale yellow, and started the process all over again. It was easier this time and I finished in a couple minutes.
“Again,” she said.
After a few more tries, we were done for the day and I had a rainbow of mini power stones to choose from. Alexa was still pouting on the couch when I grabbed my stones and stood up. She let me leave with a warning that I could expect be tired after training. I took the stairs two at a time to get to my room. Maybe I was a little tired, but at the same time it was as if I had electricity running through my veins. I was a witch. I let out a small giggle then slapped a hand to my mouth, looking around as if someone would hear me. The giggle became a snort and soon I was laughing and holding my sides until my stomach ached. I was a witch!
